Welcome to St. Colmcille's Parents Association Website.
St. Colmcille's Parents Association works with the principals, teachers and Boards of Management to build an effective partnership of home and school. We are representatives of all parents for both the Junior and Senior National Schools in Knocklyon.
The aims of St. Colmcille's Parents Association are:
* To foster a good working relationship between parents and the schools
* To represent the interests of parents of children attending St. Colmcille's Junior and Senior Schools * To keep parents up to date with current educational trends, our affiliation with the National Parents Council aids this
* To provide opportunities for social and educational interaction between parents * To provide support/organisational input into major school events All parents of children attending St. Colmcille's schools are members of the Parents Association. We elect our Committee at the AGM, which is held in September each year. The next AGM will be held in September 2010.
The Committee meets once a month. The four Parent Representatives on the Boards of Management of the schools are also members of our Parents Association Committee, so there is close liaison between parents and school management. We also have regular meetings with the Principals of both schools to discuss activities that are of concern to parents, children and their teachers. |
