Welcome to Clondalkin History Society

Clondalkin History Society was founded in September 1982, after a project was initiated by Clondalkin Junior Chamber to test the interest for local history in the area. The Society’s stated aim was that through lectures, seminars, exhibitions, field trips, urban and tourist trails to encourage knowledge of Clondalkin’s heritage and to promote a personal identity with the area.

There is a membership of around fifty who meet at Aras Cronain Watery Lane on the last Monday of each month from September to May.

Outings are organised during the summer months and local field trips are also arranged. School visits are conducted when requested and archival material is made available for school projects and for mature students.
